Hormones & High Tea - Sunday, October 20th, 2024

Join us for an empowering afternoon focused on menopause and women’s health, hosted by Eramosa Physiotherapy Associates! Speakers at this event will include Shirley Weir, founder of Menopause Chicks, along with Meryl Da Costa (Registered Physiotherapist), Megan Dunn (Nurse Practitioner), and Heidi Smith (Registered Dietician). This panel of experts will be sure to provide valuable guidance on confidently navigating menopause and other areas of women's health. This is a not for profit event with proceeds going towards Guelph Wellington Women in Crisis. Last year’s event was able to raise over $3,000! Hosted by Eramosa Physiotherapy Associates and Guelph Women’s Health Centre, your participation in this event will help foster awareness and community. CORE CONNECT CLASSES WITH AISH

October 23rd - December 11th (8-weeks) - Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm

Core Connect Group Class

Are you someone who has been experiencing low back, hip and/or pelvic dysfunction? Core Connect is a group exercise class that can benefit anyone with these concerns.  This supervised environment helps improve awareness of body mechanics and helps strengthen your core and lower extremities. 

It is suitable for anyone experiencing:

  • Pelvic floor dysfunction (urinary leakage, pelvic heaviness/pressure)
  • Low back pain and/or tightness
  • Hip pain and/or tightness

The Core Connect class will help you become more aware of your whole pelvic girdle and learn:

  • how to connect the pelvic floor with other muscles of the body during exercise.
  • how to up-train your weaker muscles
  • how to down-train your dominant/tense muscles

Join Aish, as she guides you through customized pelvic floor, core, hip and back exercises and works with you to achieve your individualized goals. This class will help you become more aware of your whole pelvic girdle and learn how to connect the pelvic floor with other core muscles during exercise. Learn how to up-train your weaker core muscles and down-train your dominant/tense muscles, all while gaining a better connection with your body’s foundation – your PELVIS!

Classes are booked and billed for the 6 sessions. A fee of $320 ($40/class x 8 classes) will be due at the time of registration. Classes are covered under Physio benefits!

***Participation: Each class member would have to be assessed** and referred by a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to ensure that you are appropriate for the classes. Assessment is an additional fee.***

Join Lindsay, our perinatal nurse and lactation specialist, in our comprehensive prenatal course designed to build your confidence and readiness for the arrival of your new family member!

Course topics encompass a wide range of essential subjects such as:

  • birth preparation
  • signs of labour
  • comfort and pain management tools
  • delivery
  • postpartum
  • baby care and infant feeding
  • emotional well-being
  • introduction to local resources.

While the optimal time to take the course is between 28-36 weeks gestation, this class can be taken at any time during your pregnancy.
